Residents of the settlement of Ali-Yurt in Ingushetia complain of regular electricity outage

Yesterday evening, December, 20, Residents of the settlement of Ali-Yurt in Ingushetia were cut off power supply once again. Local residents state that such outages now happen in the settlement practically every day. As a result, people cannot use electrical appliances, including heaters, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to local residents, power outages take place in Ali-Yurt with a population of about 7,5 thousand people practically every day. Sometimes they last one or two hours and sometimes round the clock.

The villagers emphasize that the problem of power supply is especially dramatic in the winter time because it is often impossible to use heaters and other electric appliances.

The residents say that every time when the appeal to local "Electroset" (Electricity network) they are told that electricity was cut off "for technical reasons".

Representatives of "Magas-Electroset" company explained the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the reason was that the transformers were, firstly, outworn and therefore often went down and secondly, "even those available are not enough for they were set very long ago, mostly yet in the Soviet period, while the population has grown and uses respectively much more electric appliances". One more cause of regular outages is frequent wire breaks because the wires are very old, officials of the company added.

"Electroset" explained that to solve the problem completely it was necessary to renovate the transformers available, install new ones and replace the wiring which demands enormous funds.
