In Volgograd, defrauded housing stockholders block the central avenue

Today, an unsanctioned action of deceived housing stockholders has blocked traffic in Lenin Avenue of Volgograd for half an hour.

"The traffic remained blocked for half an hour. Policemen arrived at the venue and asked the protesters to disperse. Officials of the regional administration also came to meet them," said Svetlana Smolyaninova, the head of the press service of the regional MIA.

The "Interfax-South" quotes her saying that the avenue near the Sports Palace was blocked by about a hundred investors of the Cooperative "Rosgrazhdankredit", mostly pensioners. They demanded their money back.

The Consumer Cooperative "Rosgrazhdankredit" had united over 2000 investors, who had deposited over 120 million roubles into this financial structure. But then the cooperative collapsed, and people were left with nothing. In 2010, the bosses of the cooperative – Igor and Lyubov Nesvetaev – were sentenced to 9 and 7 years in prison.

In 2010, a group of investors of the Cooperative "Rosgrazhdankredit" already blocked traffic in the area of the 7th Gvardeiskaya Street, near the building of the arbitration court, where the cooperative was then tried. Then, the protesters were visited – right in the place – by Governor Anatoly Brovko, who promised to address their problems. However, the problem of the people who had lost their money in the above cooperative has not been solved, the agency "Vysota-102" reports.
