Makhachkala hosts charity action in memory of Khadjimurad Kamalov

Today, a large charity action in memory of Khadjimurad Kamalov, the founder of the "Chernovik" weekly, who was assassinated on December 15, was organized in Makhachkala: food help was rendered to needy and poor families.

The action was initiated by the public foundation named "Chistoe Serdtse" (Pure Heart), where Khadjimurad Kamalov was one of the founders.

Volunteers of the foundation have handed out 4000 food parcels to those in need (each parcel contained 25 kg of flour, 25 kg of sugar, 15 kg of rice, 5 litres of sunflower oil and a pack of tea).

In the first order, the help was given to students-orphans, students from single-parent families and originating from high-mountainous regions.

"Khadjimurad Kamalov was a man with a truly pure heart, an honest and decent person. He was bold enough to speak openly about corruption and crime rampancy. This is a great loss for Dagestan. He was one of the first to respond to the call to launch a charity fund to help the poor and became its co-founder. Therefore, we decided to dedicate this action to Khadjimurad Kamalov," Rizvan Kurbanov, a State Duma Deputy and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the "Pure Heart" Foundation, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We didn't even hope to receive help. I bring up children alone, without a husband, there's not always enough money to buy food. I want to thank all those involved in this business," said Raisat, a resident of Makhachkala.
