Volgograd Regional Court upholds verdict to ex-deputy convicted of paedophilia

Today, the Volgograd Regional Court upheld the verdict to Nikolai Volkov, the ex-deputy of the Volgograd Regional Duma, who was convicted in this October for sex crimes against children, falsification of passport and escape. This was reported by the Spokesman of the Regional Court.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on October 4, the Dzerzhinsk District Court of Volgograd sentenced Nikolai Volkov to 14 years in a high security colony.

"Judicial board for criminal cases upheld the verdict unchanged. It came into force," the "Vsyo Dlya Vas" (All for You) quotes Vladimir Shevchenko, Spokesman of the Volgograd Regional Court, as saying.

Consideration of the appeal was held behind closed doors, like the trial in the District Court, since the case considered sexual inviolability of children, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
