Appeal complaint on "Kadyrov vs. Orlov" case to be considered on December 23

On December 5, the Khamovniki Court in Moscow continued the consideration of the appeal filed by the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov against the acquittal to Oleg Orlov, Chairman of the Human Rights Centre "Memorial". At the request of Genry Reznik, the Orlov's lawyer, the next court session was appointed for December 23.

Today, Federal Judge Vladimir Lutov continued to pronounce evidence. He has read interrogations of Umar Djumaliev, Chief of the Chechen Ombudsman's Office, Yulia Klimova, Press Secretary of the HRC "Memorial", Igor Orlov, the system administrator of the HRC "Memorial", Svetlana Gannushkina, the member of the Board of the HRC "Memorial", Alexander Mnatsakanyan, the human rights activist.

At the request of the lawyer Genry Reznik, the court session has been postponed to December 23, and it will be conducted at 12:30 a.m., reported the message of the HRC "Memorial" received by the edition office of the "Caucasian Knot".

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them.
