Georgians win "Junior Eurovision" in Yerevan

The winner of the "Junior Eurovision-2011" contest, held on December 3 in Yerevan is the Georgian ensemble "Candy" for performance of the song "Candy Music"." The second and the third places went to young singers from the Netherlands and Belarus.

Let us note here that the Georgian "Candy" got 108 points. The highest score (12 points) was given to them by TV viewers from Armenia, Belarus and Lithuania.

The "Junior Eurovision" contest in Yerevan was attended by young singers from 13 countries: Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Macedonia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Belgium and Armenia.

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them. In the village of Starye Atagi, Urus-Martan District, about 50 members of the Saif-Islam Elmurzaev family, suspected of setting the above car on fire, have been kidnapped; and about 30 people have been kidnapped in the Shali District, the "Memorial" Centre for Human Rights Defence (CHRD)* has reported.
