Over 200 motor vehicles stopped by bad weather on Russian-Georgian border

About 200 vehicles with cargoes for Armenia are still on the road leading to the checkpoint "Verkhny Lars" on the border between Russia and Georgia. Armenia and Georgia will establish a joint company to deal with road and transport issues. This was reported by Manuk Vardanyan, Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia.

According to the Minister, the agreement on establishment of the joint Armenian-Georgian enterprise to deal with road and transport issues has already been achieved, the "Armenia Today" reports.

About 200 vehicles are stuck on the road, including 85 of them – at the checkpoint, the "PanARMENIAN" reports.

"The Georgian side is trying to solve the problem of transit cargo travelling from Russia to Armenia, which has stuck because of snowfall at the checkpoint 'Kazbegi-Verkhny Lars'," reported Vera Kobaliya, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, on November 29.

According to her, bad weather conditions caused a difficult situation; however, the Georgian side takes all measures to solve the problem in a short time, the "Georgia online" reports.
