Prizes were awarded to physically challenged people in Adygeia in connection with the Day of Disabled Persons

On December, 1, prizes were awarded in Adygeia to active physically challenged people in connection with the International Day of Disabled Persons.

150 people were invited to the ceremony. They represented republican organizations of disabled disaster fighters of Chernobyl and solders of the war in Afghanistan, regional branches of the All-Russian Association of the Disabled, All-Russian Association of the Blind and All-Russian Association of the Deaf.

Six persons received prizes to a sum of five thousand rubles each for outstanding achievements in the spheres of sports, science, literature, art, education and folk arts and sports.

19 persons were nominated for the prize this year. Beside the winners, all the nominees received encouragement prizes.

“We considered it necessary to encourage all the participants of the contest, therefore 13 more persons received letters of thanks and material rewards”, Natalia Shirokova, Minister of Labour and Social Development of Adygeia, said.

“It is a pleasure that the state made us a small yet useful present timed to the Day of Disabled Persons. It means that we have not been forgotten”, Georgy Rybokon, disabled on hearing, said.
