Georgia completes acceptance of applications for creation of memorial to victims of Circassian nation's genocide

Today, the Office of the Georgian State Minister for Diaspora Affairs completed acceptance of projects for the memorial. 26 persons take part in the contest.

"We received 26 applications for participation in the contest, and most of them were submitted by the Georgian citizens. However, we also received applications from two Circassian nationals living in Northern Caucasus and Jordan. Besides, five foreigners from Bulgaria, Germany, the USA, and Turkey also wanted to participate in the contest," reported Shorena Kervalidze, the head of the press service of the State Minister.

According to her, the winner of the contest will be determined on December 2.

The contest will be held in one round. The winners will receive cash prizes: for the first place – 10,000 US dollars, for the second place – 3000 US dollars, and for the third place – 1000 US dollars.

Professional sculptors, architects, artists, and non-professional specialists (in case of presentation of a group project) were admitted to participate in the contest.
