Magomed Markhiev wounded in Ingushetia brought to Moscow clinic

The head of the Russian Social Insurance Fund for Ingushetia Magomed Markhiev, who was wounded during an assault on him, was brought by an aircraft of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) to Moscow.

A special Yak-42 aircraft was sent by the MfE leadership on request of the President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov, while doctors from the Centre for Disaster Medicine helped to send the patient.

Currently, Markhiev is in the intensive care ward of the Sklifosovsky First Aid Research Institute. His relatives are with him there, and doctors assess Magomed Markhiev's condition as grave but stable.

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them.
