The team of “Khural” newspaper appeals to the Minister of Interior Affairs of Azerbaijan for defense in connection with threats

The team of “Khural” newspaper appealed to the Minister of Interior Affairs of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov asking to secure safety to the journalists. They reported “direct threats of violence” from deputy Giulyr Ahmedova.

The letter runs that in a publication in “Eni Musavat” newspaper dated November, 22, Giulyr Ahmedova in reply to a suggestion of holding debate threatened to “put a bullet through the heads” of the journalists of “Khural” newspaper.

The authors of the letter estimate this statement as a serious threat against “Khural” newspaper, “Contact.Az” reports.

The Minister was also informed about assaults at journalists of “Khural”, among them damaging their vehicles, IA “Trend” reports.

There has been no information of the reaction of Head of the Ministry of Interior Affairs to the journalists’ appeal yet. Neither are there any comments from deputy Giulyr Ahmedova in connection with the appeal of the journalists’ team of the newspaper.
