Dagestani woman complains of detention of her nephews

Today, employees of the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division) have detained two nephews of Uzlipat Gazieva, a resident of the village of Chontaul of the Kizilyurt District – Ramazan, 26, and Magomed, 23, Abdulkerimov. The woman has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the incident.

"My sister phoned me and said that policemen had come to make a search without presenting the proper documents. They searched everything, found nothing; then, one of them re-entered one of the rooms and allegedly found a grenade there. Then, they took the nephews with them. Now, their mobile phones are off; we know nothing about them; we have no men at home, and we can't go out ourselves," said the woman.

According to her story, Magomed Abdulkerimov has three young children, and Ramazan has two; both are unemployed and had been never registered by the police. Gazieva also said that in the family of her neighbours they took away father as a hostage for his son.

"Policemen visited the neighbours, looking for their son; he was not at home; so, the police detained the father and said that they would release him only in exchange for his son," said Gazieva.

In its turn, the on duty unit of the Kizilyurt ROVD refused to comment. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan said that they knew nothing about the incident.
