Container receptors for newborn foundlings appeared in Krasnodar region

Krasnodar region has purchased special containers where marginal parents can leave their newborn babies.

The first five containers, so-called baby-boxes, were bought by Board of regional Foundation of social protection of the population within the framework of regional charitable program "Seven-colored flower. We'll help the children together".

These containers are produced in Czechia. The box looks like a small container with a door and may be built into a wall of a house. Thanks to ventilation and heating provided from outside, comfortable temperature can be maintained in it day and night. As soon as a baby gets into the "cell" a sensor is activated on the control panel and the foundling is taken by medical personnel.

The first container in the settlement of Myskhako, Novorossiysk, is being assembled by specialists who have trained in Czechia. One container will be set in each medical institution of Sochi and Armavir and two will be placed in Krasnodar, "Yugopolice" reports.

The cost of one baby-box varies around one and a half thousand dollars, "Lifе News" informs.

It should be mentioned that 771 cases of child abandonment were registered in the maternity hospitals of Kuban for the last three years and 18 crimes connected with leaving newborn babies in junkyards, bus stops and other places.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported an action of aid to the "objectors" in Sochi. About 70 students in Sochi voluntarily donated their blood and granted the money they earned for purchases of diapers, toys and medications for babies left by their parents.
