Woman from Dagestan asks to find her missing brother

Today, Zulaikha Murtazalieva, a resident of the city of Buinaksk, appealed to the organization of the "Human Rights Protection" and to the Prosecutor of Dagestan, asking to help find her brother Gasan Murtazaliev, a resident of the village of Shamkhal, who was put on the list of missing persons on October 22.

This was reported by Gulnara Rustamova, Co-Chair of the human rights organization "Human Rights Protection", to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Zulaikha Murtazalieva told the correspondent about the details of the kidnapping. According to her, on October 22 Gasan left her home and drove to the city of Makhachkala by taxi.

"He had with him two bags of dry bread, which I gave him for his cattle. The kidnapping occurred on a mountain pass on the way out of Buinaksk to Makhachkala. The taxi car was blocked on both sides by cars Lada-07 and Lada-14. Unidentified armed men in black sports uniform ran out from the cars. They immediately hit a taxi driver in his face with a butt of a submachine gun; he lost consciousness. When the driver regained consciousness, my brother disappeared from the car," said Zulaikha Murtazalieva.

She stressed that the taxi driver told her about the details of the incident.

The woman cannot specify the reason for the persecution of her brother; however, she noted that he is a strictly practicing Muslim.

Her other brother Yusup left the house in winter 2011. "We do not know what had happened to him; however, local policemen said that he had joint the militants," stated Zulaikha Murtazalieva.

According to her, Gasan had been repeatedly visited for searches; however, nothing criminal had been found at his house.
