In Kalmykia, 74 persons recognized as victims in mass children AIDS infection
The Investigatory Department for Kalmykia of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has completed an additional investigation into the criminal case, initiated on January 25, 1989, on facts of mass AIDS infection of children. The status of victims was awarded to 74 persons.
"All the victims have received the relevant documents; and now they can fully exercise their rights," Arslan Churyumov, senior assistant of the head of the ICRF Department, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.
According to the Ministry of Public Health and Social Development of Kalmykia, today 44 persons receive their allowances in the amount of 22,844 roubles a month. Besides, sixteen parents receive 600 roubles per month from the government of Kalmykia for the care of their sick children. Last year, the families of 12 HIV-infected children received 42,000 roubles each to bury their perished kids; this year, eight families received such sums.
Let us remind you that every victim's family claims compensation of moral harm in the amount of five million roubles.
