Ecologists ask to cancel tenders on construction of road to weather station in Adygea

Activists of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" have sent an official appeal to the Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Yury Trutnev, where they ask to cancel two tenders on construction of the road running to the weather station in the Republic of Adygea.

In the opinion of ecologists, they want to run the road not to the weather station, but to the resting place of the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

The protests of ecologies were caused by tenders Nos. 0318100008211000036 and 0318100061011000031 on the right to conclude state contracts on design documentation for two sections of the "Road route to the meteorological station of the Federal State Institution (FSI) 'Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve'".

According to the documents posted on the official website of state procurements, the total contract value amounts to 250 million roubles.

According to ecologists, the cordon Babuk-Aul of the Caucasian Reserve, which is the destination of the road in question, has no weather station. The activists believe that the would-be road in intended to ensure the land transport access to the ski complex "Lunnaya Polyana".

"This resort was built with gross violations of legislation on the initiative of the Administrative Department of Russian President on the finds of the 'Rosneft' Company as the place of rest for Vladimir Putin," runs the website of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus".

The Minister Yury Trutnev was asked to justify the expenditure of state budget funds to design the construction of the two road sections.

Also, ecologists ask him to cancel the tenders, and appeal to Sergey Stepashin, the head of the Russian Audit Chamber, to check the appropriateness of spending funds on these contracts, the "Zhivaya Kuban" reports.
