Visitors of sushi bar in Rostov Region get infected with salmonellosis

Ten persons were hospitalized with diagnosis of salmonellosis and orivirus infection after eating at the Japanese cuisine facility in the city of Taganrog. A 7-year-old child and a sushi bar employee are among the victims.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a mass poisoning of visitors of the cafe in Taganrog, Rostov Region, happened on October 9. According to preliminary data, visitors of one of the cafes ordered meals at the sushi bar; then, they felt sick and had to address doctors.

"In six cases salmonella was revealed, others got infected with orivirus. In order to localize and eliminate the infection focal point, we are taking a complex of sanitary and epidemic control steps," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was at the Rostov Regional Department of "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision).

A seven-year-old boy and an employee of the sushi bar are among the victims, the website "Taganrog-News" reports.

All the patients are now in the state of moderate gravity; there is no threat to life, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
