Trial on riots in Manege Square starts questioning the defendants

Today, the Tver District Court in Moscow has started questioning the defendants in the resonant case about disorders in Manege Square in Moscow in December 2010.

Let us note here that at today's session, the public prosecution has completed presenting evidences of the defendants' guilt; and the defence has started presenting their proofs. The prisoner's dock contains Igor Berezyuk, Kirill Unchuk, Ruslan Khubaev, Leonid Panin and Alexander Kozevin - according to investigators, they were organizers of the riots.

Only Panin and Kozevin were questioned at today's session. They said that they regret about what had happened and reminded that they had already apologized to the police and the authorities.

The courtroom was attended by Kozevin's grandmother, Khubaev's girlfriend, members of "The Other Russia" and reporters. The next session on the case will be held on October 13 and continue questioning the defendants in the order as defined today.
