A witness for the prosecution at the trial on the case of disturbances in Manezhnaya square reported pressure from the police

A fifteen-year-old witness who evidenced at a trial under consideration in Tverskoy district court of Moscow on the case of mass disturbances in Manezhnaya square last December stated that he had undergone physical and moral pressure from the police personnel.

It should be reminded that Igor Berezniuk, Kirill Unchiuk, Ruslan Khubaev, Leonid Panin and Alexander Khosevin who, according to the investigation, were organizers of the disturbances are in the dock.

Defendant Berezniuk is incriminated the episode of involving an underage girl in his criminal activities.

The teenager gave evidence with a handcuff on his arm and under escort. He completely denied his evidence given during preliminary inquiry when he stated that Berezniuk involved him in participation in the disturbances in Manezhnaya square.

The witness declared that he “exerted pressure from operative agents for he himself was accused of a murder”. The teenager also said that “nobody gave him a megaphone in Manezhka” and he almost did not know Berezniuk.

According to the witness, he went to Manezhnaya square to “meet his girl Masha” after he visited Kronstadtsky boulevard where he “laid a scarf and flowers at the place of Yegor Sviridov’s murder together with other football fans”.

The teenager’s mother was present at the trial.
