Rights defenders report disappearance of Dagestani resident

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Svetlana Isaeva, the chair of the human rights organization "Mothers of Dagestan for Human Rights", that today Murad Djavatkhanov, born in 1982, a resident of the village of Sultanyangiyurt.

"At midday, he bought a ticket at the Kizilyurt railway station; it can be confirmed by policemen who saw him there; and already at 12:45 a.m. his phone already did not answer – this is what Murad's wife told us," explained Isaeva.

According to her story, people saw Djavatkhanov detained by men in police uniform. "They said that they would take him to the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division). When relatives came there, they were told that Djavatkhanov was not there; maybe he was taken to Khasavyurt; however, neither there nor in Makhachkala they couldn't find him," added Svetlana Isaeva.

According to Murtazali Tagirov, the chair of the public organization "Fighter for Justice", Djavatkhanov was working as a security in the city of Novy Urengoy; he came home on vacation was going to go back.

"His relatives submitted applications to the prosecutor's office and investigatory department. However, their applications were not accepted under the motive that the fact of kidnapping was not confirmed by anyone," added Mr Tagirov.

According to his story, "eyewitnesses of the kidnapping are afraid to evidence."
Earlier, Murad Djavatkhanov had no problems with the police.

The press service of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said that they had no information about the incident.
