In Dagestan, all detained Novosasitli villagers are at large

In Dagestan, Akhmed Saaduev, a detained resident of the village of Novosasitli, was released on recognizance not to leave. Earlier, two detainees were also set free.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on October 1 law enforcement agents conducted searches in the houses of residents of the village of Novosasitli of Khasavyurt District. As a result, according to information of power agents, firearms, grenades and religious extremist literature were found. Besides, three persons were detained, including a brother of the late Murtazali Magomedov, Ph.D. in Islamic Studies (who was killed on October 3, 2009, - note of the "Caucasian Knot").

Later, two detainees were released, and, until recently, Akhmed Saaduev, third detainee, remained at the ROVD (District Interior Division) of Khasavyurt.

The residents of the village, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Akhmed Saaduev owned a network of shops was a quite wealthy person. Local residents believe that he was detained to "knock out" money from him.

In turn, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic claim that the 39-year-old man provided assistance in the form of funding and provision of housing to a local militant.

According to the residents of Novosasitli, inspections and searches are being permanently conducted in their village. At the entrance to the village, residents have organized a post and watch there at nights, maintaining order. According to them, power agents had repeatedly destroyed the post, alleging that the residents watched at the post in order to give signals to the village on the appearance of the MIA's officers.
