Ecologists in Tuapse report emission of petroleum products into the river by "Rosneft"

A spontaneous emission of petroleum products into the Tuapse river happened at one of the enterprises of "Rosneft" in the town, activists of "Environmental Watch on North Caucasus" report.

According to the ecologists, the incident took place on September, 28. After the emission floating booms were set in the riverbed. 

"The attempts of a representative of "Environmental Watch on North Caucasus" to get information from official representatives of "Rosneft" on what had happened failed. "Rosneft" is doing its best to conceal the fact of the emergency emission", web-site of "Environmental Watch on North Caucasus" reports. 

The extent of the pollution is unknown. After the incident special technical devices worked in the site to eliminate the aftermath of the overflow", web-site "My.mozhem.ru" reports. 

"Rosneft" has not yet provided any comments concerning the ecologists' information on pollution of the Tuapse river.

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya
