In Georgia, released teacher rejects her agreement with investigators

Asmat (Shorena) Khangoshvili, a teacher of English, who was released from arrest in Tbilisi, denied the information that she had entered into a procedural agreement with the investigators.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier the Georgian media reported she was released from prison, since she pleaded guilty.

"The procedural agreement was not concluded, since I did not plead guilty. I cannot comment on the judicial decision, since I don't understand the world of law," stated Asmat Khangoshvili.

According to Liya Margoshvili, the head of the Duisi Office of the "Robin Scott" Foundation (Asmat Khangoshvili is an employee of the Foundation, - note of the "Caucasian Knot"), Asmat was most likely released due to public reaction.

Earlier, Tinatin Gumashvili, mother of the teacher, said that the law enforcement bodies had no grounds to detain her daughter, since at the time of her arrest they had no evidence.

"It should have been apparent to the family whether my daughter was involved in drug trafficking. These accusations are inconceivable. I could not think that in Georgia people could be arrested without any ground. I cannot say why she was arrested, in what they were interested," the "Georgia Online" quotes Tinatin Gumashvili as saying.

Asmat Khangoshvili told her lawyer, that the officers of the Special Operative Department (SOD), who accompanied her on the way to Tbilisi, were allegedly discussing what they would write in the act of her detention - drug pills or powder, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.
