In Georgia, military helicopter with foreign journalists crashes with no victims

In the mountainous district of Georgia, a helicopter "Mi-8" of the Armed Forces of the republic suddenly lost control and fell. According to the Ministry of Defence of Georgia, the helicopter had its crew, Georgian and foreign journalist camera crews on its board. The affected persons suffered minor injuries.

The helicopter lost control and fell from a low altitude in the mountainous district of Khevsuretiya (the region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti) at the time of landing. The pilot lost control due to sudden change of wind.

Three pilots and eight journalists - citizens of Georgia and other countries - were on the board. The victims suffered minor injuries, their health state is fair, most of them have already left the local hospital, and others will be discharged from the hospital in a few hours, the agency "News-Georgia" reports.

The military police investigates the incident, the "Interfax" reports.

It has been not yet reported journalists of which states were in the helicopter.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported on the incident with a helicopter "Mi-8" in Russia. On August 29, the helicopter with the officials on its board fell from the height of 10 meters in Karachay-Cherkessia. As a result of the accident, four persons were injured. Among the victims - Maxim Bystrov, Deputy Envoy Plenipotentiary of Russian President in the North Caucasus Federal District, he was hospitalized in moderately grave condition. Experts of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) found out that the helicopter had problems with the work of one of the engines at landing.
