Volgograd Region: fire victims from Kamensky farm ask authorities for help

Local authorities have received five applications asking to provide material help from the residents of the farm named Kamensky, Ilovlin District, Volgograd Region, who suffered from wildfire on August 11.

"In the remote Kamensky farm, which is under the authority of our village council, the fire affected mainly outbuildings - sheds, latrines and fences. The fire also affected an abandoned and dismantled house," Veniamin Bagaev, head of the rural settlement Novo-Grigorievskaya, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The local authorities have organized supply of drinking water to those villagers, who remained without water after the fire. Also, the district and regional authorities promised to help all those, who would address for help. This will be done after appraising the actual damage caused to households.

According to Mr Bagaev, currently 18 local residents permanently live in 11 houses in Kamensky. Almost all of them are pensioners. About thirty houses belong to visitors who use them as summer residences. According to his story, these households present threat, as almost nobody watches them.

"We're going to make an inventory of deserted houses in our villages. We'll invite the prosecutor's office and oblige the owners to observe the fire safety regulations," said Veniamin Bagaev.

Let us note here that on August 11 the state of emergency was introduced in the Volgograd Region because of fire danger.
