Abkhazian CEC registered three presidential and vice-presidential candidates

Today the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Abkhazia has registered three candidates for the presidency and respectively for the vice-presidency of the republic.

The following candidates have been registered: Raul Khajimba – as the presidential candidate and Svetlana Djergeniya – as the vice-presidential candidate; Alexander Ankvab – as the presidential candidate and Mikhail Logua – as the vice-presidential candidate; Sergey Shamba – as the presidential candidate and Shamil Adzinba – as the vice-presidential candidate.

According to Batal Tabagua, Chairman of the CEC, the members of the CEC had no criticism on the documents submitted by two initiative groups, which has nominated Alexander Ankvab and Sergey Shamba, and by the party "Forum of the National Unity of Abkhazia", which has nominated Raul Khajimba.

10 days before the voting day – August 16 – the register lists of voters will be posted at electoral districts, now these lists are being clarified. As it used to be earlier, the voting will be permitted only upon presence of an internal Abkhazian passport, on the 17th page of which the voting stamp will be put.
