Armenia tries ex-advisor of Armenian Premier accused of debauchery of minors

The session of the court of general jurisdiction of the Lori Region of Armenia, which considers the case of Serob Ter-Pogosyan, accused of sexual abuse of children, has started questioning of victims. Also, the court studied the video materials and attached them to the case records.

Ter-Pogosyan was arrested on February 9. According to investigators, from 2004 to 2010 he was engaged in children's activities in the city of Akhtala, Lori Region. The General Prosecutor's Office accuses him of forcing the children, whom he selected for the events, including those under the age of puberty, into "homosexual relations and other sexual acts."

The session on July 21 saw one of the available video records, where the court could clearly see Ter-Pogosyan and a boy, with whom the 69-year-old Ter-Pogosyan started a sexual intercourse.

The court found the video record to be valid evidence. The sessions are held behind closed doors. Ter-Pogosyan has denied accusations of paedophilia and had previously stated his intention to apply to law enforcement bodies demanding to identify the authors and customers of the campaign organized against him.
