Georgia: oppositional "sextet" creates coalition "For Free Choice"

Today six Georgian oppositional parties issued a statement on creation of the coalition "For Free Choice", aimed at achieving the power change through elections.

"The coalition takes the political responsibility to change the current power through elections, create the coalition government, complete the post-Soviet era of neo-Bolshevism in the country, implant a multiparty democracy based on the rule of law and ensure the European integration of the country," announced the joint statement.

The current coalition includes the following parties: "National Forum", "Free Democrats", Conservative Party, Republican Party, "Way of Georgia" and "People's Party", the "Georgia Online" reports.

"Whereas the representatives of the "sextet" were consolidated for changing the electoral environment, now we unite for changing the living environment. From today our task is to ensure the coalition parliamentary majority," stressed the statement disseminated today.

Therefore, the coalition members declared that they started the campaign on a national scale under the title "I remember", which would be held till the parliamentary elections in October 2012, using all possible means of disseminating information: posters, phone messages, online social media, videos, TV reports, newspaper articles and brochures, the "News-Georgia" reports.
