Afghanistan: eighth soldier from Georgia lost

During a mission of the Georgian peacekeeping contingent in Khelmand province of Afghanistan soldier Gia Goguadze perished, reported the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia on June 20. He was already the eighth Georgian soldier lost in Afghanistan.

According to the Ministry of Defence of Georgia, the soldier of the 3rd Infantry Brigade was wounded during Taliban attack. He was taken to hospital but doctors failed to save him. Body of the deceased soldier has already been delivered to Georgia.

Soldier Goguadze served in the Georgian army since 2010. The Ministry of Defence expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and stated that the soldier's family would receive all due benefits package, the "Georgia Online" reported.
