Bortnikov: FSB knows Dokku Umarov's whereabouts

The location of the leader of the armed underground of North Caucasus Dokku Umarov is known to the Russia's secret services, Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the FSB, has announced today.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported, citing a source from law enforcement bodies of the NCFD (North-Caucasian Federal District), that the leader of North-Caucasian militants was alive and, according to operative information, was in the territory of one of the regions of the Russian Caucasus.

"Localization of activities of most notorious leaders of bandit formations is all the time in the FSB's field of view. We know where Umarov is; and today we take all the necessary steps to detain him," the "Interfax" quotes Bortnikov's speech at today's press conference.
