North-Ossetian Muftiate states detention of Muslim activists in Vladikavkaz

In the evening on May 31, after the special operation, which resulted in liquidation of David Murashev, suspected of murdering Shamil Dzhigkaev, a famous Ossetian writer and dean of the philology department of the local university, the Ossetian police arrested 15 Muslims, said Ibrahim Dzagurov, assistant Mufti of North Ossetia.

Today, the Mufti of North Ossetia Hadji Murat Gatsalov made a statement, where he expressed doubts that David Murashev could not been taken alive. "The whole ten-thousand staff of law enforcement bodies... was unable to conduct an operation and take the murderer alive! It's either incompetence, or the pre-planned finale," says the Mufti.

According to his story, Murashev had been earlier within the field of view of law enforcement bodies; four times he was detained and released without any administrative measures.

According to Gatsalov, at night on May 31 power agents wearing masks arrested all the activists of the Vladikavkaz Muslim community.

So far, the local law enforcers have made no comments; the position of David Murashev's relatives is also unknown.
