The investigation considers that the scuffle in which Sviridov perished was initiated by natives of the Caucasus

The investigation on the case of murder of "Spartak" fan Egor Sviridov in Moscow considers that the scuffle which resulted in the fan's death was initiated by natives of the Caucasus and the conflict emerged from "the difference of behaviour codes". The defendants have studied the materials of the investigation and the indictment is being prepared for referring to Public prosecutor's office for validation, Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation (CIR) reported.

Officials of CIR said that the defendants had finished reading the materials collected during the investigation and after accomplishment of the actions in accordance with clause 217 of Code of criminal procedure which regulates the order of studying the materials of the case by defendants and their attorneys investigators only have to refer the indictment to Public prosecutor's office for validation, "Commersant" newspaper reports today.

The investigation established that the "Spartak" fans while celebrating Sviridovs' departure for "Spartak's" match in Slovakia were heavily drunk. In particular, the experts in forensic medicine discovered about 3 per thousand alcohol in the victim's blood. On coming out the group ran across natives of the Caucasus who according to the aggrieved, started assaulting at them. A quarrel broke out between them which developed into a scuffle.

The investigation considers that none of the aggrieved was able to put up real resistance to the attackers because of their physical state. The officials of CIR state that the aggrieved did not shout out any nationalist slogans which could provoke the conflict, neither did they have any fans' attributes on. These and other proofs collected during the investigation show that there was no interethnic conflict between the groups of young people. "This can be possibly explained by difference of their behaviour codes", officials of the city investigative department of CIR declared.

According to the investigation's version, five people took part in the scuffle where Sviridov was killed. The charge of Sviridov's murder was brought against Aslan Cherkesov aged 26, resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, who had a traumatic handgun with him. Akai Akaev, Khasan Ibragimov, Nariman Ismailov ant Arthur Arsibiev are accused of hooliganism and deliberate causing damage to the health of people.

Cherkesov does not deny having fired but he states that he acted in self-defense. According to him, he was shooting blind when he was put face on the bonnet of a car standing nearby and one of the twelve bullets shot by him accidentally got into the victim's head and caused a mortal injury, the defendant states. According to the attorneys, Cherkesov tried to stop the scuffle but he himself was attacked from behind. Meanwhile, according to forensic report, Sviridov died from a wounding in the back of his head.

It should be reminded that in the beginning of March, during his stay in the investigative isolation ward, Aslan Cherkesov registered his marriage with a Russian girl Tatiana who was pregnant from him. The marriage ceremony took place in the investigative isolation ward "Matrosskaya Tishina" where Cherkesov was kept after arrest. After the wedding his wife left Moscow. The baby was born at the end of March, however Cherkesov learned this news from a telegram shown to him by his attorneys. The boy was named Alisag as Cherkesov had asked, Life News reports.
