Defence of parents whose children drowned in Yeisk Spit complain against court

Advocates of the parents of the schoolchildren, who drowned in the sea near Yeisk have filed a complaint against the court, which rejected their petition to attract teachers as co-respondents. On May 16, 2011, a preliminary court hearing will take place.

"We asked to draw the school and teachers Ryabova and Bagryantsev as co-respondents. We also clarified our claims, including our claims to them, and presented them," Liudmila Aivar, who is representing the victims, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She explained that initially the court accepted the claims; then rejected them; therefore, the victims appealed against the actions of the court to the qualifying collegium, which forwarded the complaint for consideration by the chairman of the Tver District Court.

"It is clear that, as a rule, chairmen of the courts fail to react to violations of their judges, since they try to defend the image of their district courts. As a rule, the chairman would reply that there were no violations in the actions of the judge; therefore, we expect no reaction of the chairman to the judge's actions," said the lawyer and added that if no satisfactory decision was made, they would further complain against the qualifying collegium.
