In Kabardino-Balkaria, state officials are suspected of housing frauds

The investigatory bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria have initiated a criminal case against two officials of the administration of the Prokhladnensky District. They are suspected of frauds with the housing facilities intended for resettling people out of dilapidated housing stock.

According to investigators, in the period from September to December 2009, the head of the administrative-legal department and deputy head - manager of affairs of the Prokhladnensky district administration bought from local residents seven residential premises costing from 60 to 420 thousand roubles, having registered them on their relatives and friends.

Then, the purchased facilities were sold through an open auction by the administration at the price ranging from 701 to 752 thousand roubles for further provision to the citizens resettled from emergency and dilapidated houses. This was reported by the RIA "Novosti" with reference to the spokesperson of the Investigatory Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the ICRF.

The criminal case was initiated under Part 1, Article 285 (abuse of power) of the Russia Criminal Code, which assumes u to four years of imprisonment.

So far, nothing is reported about the position of the accused officials.
