Magomed Khazbiev's family announces reward for information about his kidnappers

The family of the Ingush oppositionist Magomed Khazbiev has announced a reward of one million roubles for information about the persons who on March 23 captured him and his two brothers, Murad and Berd, in their own home and delivered to the GUVD (Chief Interior Department).

On March 23, after a spontaneous rally in Nazran, unknown persons in masks, who arrived in cars without number plates, broke into Khazbievs' house, having previously surrounded the whole district, beat the oppositionist's parents and forced away the three brothers. Besides, his personal armoured Mercedes car was hijacked. Later, the car was found in the car park of the Nazran GIBDD (road police).

Khazbiev's kidnappers said that they were acting on behalf and by order of Magomed Tambiev, head of the Nazran GUVD.

According to Tambiev, he had nothing to do with the capture of Khazbiev and his brothers beating him and his family and never gave such order.

Magomed Khazbiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he was ready to guarantee anonymity by his oath on the Koran to the person who would tell him who from among GUVD employees or other agents had attacked his house.

"Even if the informant is one of those who took part in the attack, we'll forgive and thank him; others will be claimed according to the law and traditions," said Khazbiev.
