In Dagestan, beaten journalist states he was threatened by attackers

Journalist Magomed Khanmagomedov, beaten in Derbent, sent a telegram on the fact on attack on him to the head of the Dagestani MIA (Ministry of Internal Affairs) Abdurashid Magomedov, where he reports about the threats expressed by the assailants.

Let us remind you that today, when he was videoing demolition of a medieval house, Magomed Khanmagomedov, a journalist of the "Chernovik" edition, was attacked by unknown persons. The journalist underwent medical examination and went to the police.

"Those who attacked me threatened that they would come to my home and make a massacre there, will 'tear out my legs',", said Magomed Khanmagomedov.

According to the journalist, after his address to the police, Malik Sadykov, a district policeman of the OVD (Interior Department) of the city of Derbent, visited the place of the incident and talked to the attackers, who did not deny that they had beaten the journalist.

The medical examination of Magomed Khanmagomedov revealed a cut lip and a haematoma on his forehead.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was assured by Malik Sadykov, who was a member of the investigative group, that all the necessary measures had been taken on the incident. Evidences were taken from victim Magomed Khanmagomedov; the case materials have been sent for examination to determine the extent of caused harm. After collecting all the materials, a decision will be made about the article for initiating a criminal case.

The actions of the suspects may be classified as "hooliganism" or "causing harm to one's health".
