Former employee of "Let's Save Generation" deported from Norway

Salyakh Isaev, a former employee of the regional charitable public organization (RCPO) "Let's Save Generation", has been arrested in Norway. He is prepared for expulsion; and in the morning on April 27 he will be sent back into Chechnya. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by rights defender Ahmed Gisaev.

According to a source from Chechnya, who preferred to remain anonymous, Salyakh Isaev had worked in the organization named "Let's Save Generation", headed by Zarema Sadulayeva, and also had contacts with her husband Alik Dzhabrailov. The couple was abducted and assassinated in August 2010 in Grozny.

"Isaev is still searched in Chechnya by power agents; they ask about him his relatives and rights defenders. It's very dangerous to come back here," the source has added.

Ahmed Gisaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Isaev had worked for the RCPO "Let's Save Generation" in 2003, first as instructor for anti-mine safety and then - as coordinator of the programme "Young invalids of Northern Caucasus - for development of dialogue and social networks".

"In 2007, Salyakh went to France to the conference in Lyon "Youth for Democracy" and made a report there on the problem with mines in Chechnya, trying to draw public attention to the problem. I have a CD with his presentation that he sent to me. On his return to Russia, Isaev was detained at the airport," Mr Gisaev has added.

He also said that Isaev was detained for four days by FSB agents. Some time later, in December 2008, Salyakh Isaev was kidnapped and beaten.

"He was tortured for the whole night - they wanted to receive information about the activities of the 'Let's Save Generation'; then, he was set free. He was forced to leave the territory of the Chechen Republic," says Ahmed Gisaev.

Currently, according to his story, they again try to send Isaev to Russia and would not grant political asylum to him.

So far, there were no comments from the Migration Service of Norway. The editorial board is now compiling a request. The previous request about the situation in Norway with Chechen refugees was redirected by the Migration Service to its informant - the "Landinfo" Centre. The Centre responded that they were concerned about the human rights situation in Chechnya; however, they had no influence on the Migration Service.
