NAC: militants liquidated in the Caucasus wanted to launch news website and publish Wahhabi magazine

The militants liquidated in a counterterrorist operation in Northern Caucasus had planned to make a film and publish a glossy magazine about terrorists' lifestyle. Also, layouts and maps, and various methodology-training literature on how to prepare terrorist acts were confiscated from them. This was reported by the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

As reported by Evgeniy Ilyin, First Deputy Head of the NAC, at today's press conference in Moscow, "we confiscated their records, where they said about their plans. In particular, they wanted to film a documentary, clearly telling in Russian what actions they were preparing; and how the members of the bandit underground live and pray."

According to his story, the gunmen had intended also to launch a website with a news tape about the crimes committed and containing their promotional materials.

Mr Ilyin also said that the militants had plans to create and print a colour monthly magazine, telling about the lifestyle of the militants, culture and other events.

"These records were confiscated in the course of one of the counterterrorist operations (CTOs) conducted in one of the North-Caucasian republics," said Ilyin as quoted by "Interfax".
