Leader of armed underground killed in Dagestan, NAC asserts

Yakhya Aslanov, who was killed in a shootout in Dagestan, was the leader of the armed underground and was involved in several terror acts and attacks committed in the territory of the republic. This was announced by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

"Yakhya Aslanov was the leader of the Karabudakhkent subversive-terrorist group, which was involved in many crimes," said Nikolai Sintsov, the NAC spokesman.

According to his story, this grouping had organized terror acts in the village of Gubden, shelled militiamen, was involved in the murder of four huntsmen near Gubden and an explosion of a grocery store, the "Interfax" reports.

Three suspects of involvement in IAFs were liquidated in the course of a shootout with power agents on April 1 in the Kumtorkalin District of Dagestan.
