Dagestan: blast victim complains of absence of help from authorities

According to Shakhban Shakhbanov, until now, no help was rendered by the authorities to his family, which suffered from the explosion on February 1 in Kizlyar.

The exploson occurred in Kizlyar in a private house in Bagration Street, where a store is in the ground floor. The owner of the house and his family members were hospitalized.

"A terror act was committed at night against my family; as a result I've lost not only my property but also health. However, nobody has so far rendered us any help," Shakhbanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. He said that all the tenants were in the city hospital.

"Doctors diagnosed a bruise of pelvic bones and post-traumatic lumbalgia in me; brain contusion and multiple bodily injuries in my wife Nasikhat; brain contusion and fracture of the skull base in my daughter Zukhra; and brain contusion and multiple bodily injuries in my two-year-old niece Zarema," said Shakhbanov.

He does not know who committed the crime, but does not rule out that it could be organized by militants. "I sell only beer in my store, while militants blow up retail outlets selling alcohol. However, they usually first warn shop owners, while nobody had come to me," he said.

Mayor of Kizlyar Vyacheslav Palamarchuk has noted that the administration will provide all possible assistance to Shakhbanov family. He also said that the family built their store illegally; however, Shakhbanov himself asserts that he has all the necessary documents.
