Six persons got under avalanche in Georgia

Six persons, one of them is a citizen of the Czech Republic - Thomas Fila, 30, who perished today, got under a snow avalanche on Mount Lomisi in Georgia near the Gudauri ski resort.

"It was a group of extreme skiers, who had climbed Mount Lomisi," Givi Amirhanashvili, deputy governor of the region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, explains. "Initially, three of them went down the hill; and when the rest of them started descending, they were overtaken by an avalanche, which covered and killed one of them - the Czech citizen. The rest of them were saved, including the casualty's wife."

It was reported earlier that rescuers of the emergency service saved two Czech citizens from under the avalanche. In total, according to the administration of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, the avalanche covered three Czech citizens, the "Rosbalt" reports.
