Resident of Ingushetia demands examinations to define the cause of his grandson's death

Boris Evloev, a resident of the village of Nesterovskaya, Sunzha District of Ingushetia, who had stated that his daughter Khava Tangieva lost her child and became unable to have children in future because of doctors' negligence, is now stating injustice of judicial and investigatory bodies. Without any success he demands a DNA assay, supposing that the child could be substituted at the maternity hospital.

The Malgobek District Court has already rejected Evloev in recognizing his daughter to be a victim under Article 109 of the Russian Criminal Code (causing death by negligence) and upheld Article 118 (causing heavy injury by negligence). Boris Evloev filed a complaint to the Supreme Court of Ingushetia, where he hopes for objective consideration of his case.

Earlier Evloev had addressed to the office of the Government of Ingushetia, where he was promised that the investigation, which was supposed to be held by the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic, would be monitored. Zhanna Almazova, press secretary of the Ingush Government, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she had no information about Evloev's appeal and advised to contact the Government's Social Department, engaged in public health issues. However, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent failed to reach the Department by phone.

"There' no justice," Boris Evloev used these words to characterize the course of his criminal case.

He said that he had held his own investigation, which revealed that his absolutely healthy daughter had received - through doctors' mistakes - a serious infection and a number of diseases. For over a year Evloev has been appealing to courts and investigatory bodies in search of justice.

For Ingush nationals, disclosure by a father of such details about his daughter is absolutely atypical, said Evloev. It is not a tradition among Ingushes that men talk about problems with fertility or women's diseases. Boris Evloev notes that he decided to do this aiming to stop similar doctors' crimes, which are of mass character in Ingushetia.

"My daughter arrived to the Malgobek Central District Hospital (SDC) in healthy condition. I have results of ultrasound examination, which confirm that neither she nor her child had any abnormalities. Now my daughter has plenty diseases and lost some of her internal organs," said Evloev.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent contacted Magomed Buzurtanov, chief physician of the Malgobek CDC, who confirmed on the phone that none of the doctors who took delivery was removed from duties. "Now, the investigation is underway; I can't dismiss anyone. I sent all the materials to the prosecutor's office," said Buzurtanov and refused to explain the hospital's attitude to the fact.

"From the very beginning I insisted that autopsy of the perished baby was done to establish the cause of its death. But the Investigatory Division for the Malgobek District wouldn't do it; they deliberately protracted the examination. Now, it's already useless," said Evloev.

He claims to have information that at the hospital, where his daughter suffered, medics sell babies and tell their parents that they have died.

"They sell babies there for 80,000 roubles each. I know people who bought their children there; but they surely wouldn't speak openly about it. We believe that my daughter's baby was most likely kidnapped and sold. On January 11, 2010, my daughter bore her baby at three in the morning, and at six another woman gave birth and then somehow quickly disappeared from the hospital. My daughter says that the woman wasn't ripe for delivery and had no signs of pregnancy. We suspect that my grandson was sold to that particular woman," said Evloev.

Rustam Gandaloev, an inspector of the Malgobek ROVD (District Interior Division), who is now running the case, confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that no investigation was conducted into the fact of baby substitution and added that exhumation of the baby's body would give no fruit.
