Judge in murder case of Markelov and Baburova gets security

As reported by Anna Usachova, head of the press service of the Moscow City Court, Judge Alexander Zamashnyuk, who is presiding at the trial on the murder of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova, will be guarded for the purpose of his security.

"When it comes to safety of judges, we take all the necessary operative measures to ensure their security," Ms Usachova has stressed as quoted by the Russian Agency of Legal and Judicial Information (RAPSI).

Earlier, on Thursday, March 3, Prosecutor Elena Sukhova reported that nationalists were exchanging information in their forums on the Internet about personal life of Judge Alexander Zamashnyuk.

The defence believes that the investigation has failed to study all the versions of the murder. In the course of the session, the defendants Nikita Tikhonov and Evgenia Khasis refused to admit their guilt.
