Resident of Chechnya detained in Moscow is checked for involvement in "Domodedovo" terror act

Khasu Batalov, who was detained at the Moscow Kiev Railway Station on February 15, may be associated with the suspect of organizing the terror act in Moscow's "Domodedovo" Airport on January 24.

Let us remind you that on February 16 the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported that four natives of Chechnya (including a woman), suspected of involvement in the armed underground, were detained on February 15 in Moscow and would be delivered to Chechnya. According to power agents, one of the detainees - Khasu Batalov - was in federal search for several years for attacking militiamen in Chechnya.

The National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) of the Russian Federation does not exclude that Khasu Batalov was linked with the suspect of involvement in organizing the terror act in Moscow "Domodedovo" Airport. "There is data about his close association with the searched Aslan Byutukaev, born in 1974, who is suspected of organizing the terror act at the 'Domodedovo' Airport," runs the NAC's statement as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

The NAC explains that Byutukaev was pictured together with the leader of Caucasian militants' Dokku Umarov in his video appeal about sending to Moscow a militant named Seifullah, which was posted on the Internet on February 4 for committing terror acts.

The NAC does not exclude that Batalov has to do with training the suicide bombers who prepared the explosion at the airport, the "Interfax" reports.

The power agents also add that Khasu Batalov was detained at his attempt to go outside the Russian Federation, the ITAR-TASS reports.
