Massacre in military unit in Azerbaijan
On Sunday, February 20, several soldiers were assassinated in a military unit of the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan. According to unofficial information, one of the soldiers shot six of his comrades and then shot himself.
As reported in a joint statement of the Ministry of Defence and the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, "on February 20, at 9:40 a.m., a grave crime with casualties was committed in one of the military units of the Ministry of Defence." No motives and circumstances of the crime were disclosed.
The statement gives the names of the seven perished soldiers: Naib Guliev (born in 1992), Javid Javadzadeh (born in 1991), Nurlan Suanverdiev (born in 1991), Ramazan Khochberov (born in 1992), Afgan Kerimov (born in 1991), Akhmed Guseinov (born in 1992) and Zakir Guliev (born in 1991).
Meanwhile, according to duly informed sources, the massacre was committed at the post of one of the units in the Goygol District in the west of the country, where eight soldiers were on duty. One of them, having shot six fellow-servicemen, committed suicide. One soldier remained alive, the "Turan" Information Agency reports.
