Deputy colony head detained at bribe-taking in Dagestan

As reported by the press service of the regional FSB department, on Monday, February 7, Lieutenant Colonel Khanahmed Yarakhmedov, deputy head of Penal Colony No. 2 of the Russian Federal Penal Service (known as "UFSIN"), was detained, when receiving a bribe of 80,000 roubles.

According to the FSB, the operation was conducted on application of a woman-resident of Dagestan that the Lieutenant Colonel was extorting 80,000 roubles from her for signing the conditional early relief of her nephew.

"In the course of a joint operation carried out by operative agents of the FSB and the division of own security of the UFSIN, Lieutenant Colonel Yarakhmedov was detained in his office study," said the spokesman of the FSB Department for Dagestan. "He managed to hide the money in the freezer of his refrigerator."

Currently Yarakhmedov is kept in the detention centre of Makhachkala UVD (Interior Department) pending charges. A criminal case was initiated against him under Part 4, Article 290 of the Criminal Code, the "Interfax" reports.
