Armenia to create the "911" service

This year, Armenia will form a new division of rescuers by analogy of the American rescue service "911".

According to Armen Eritsyan, Minister for Emergencies of Armenia, his agency plans that the rescuers' number will be 112. When dialling the number, citizens will be able to get connected directly with three services at a time: the police, ambulance and fire service.

According to the Minister, it is also planned that within 1 or 1.5 years Armenia will introduce a united management system in crisis situations. It involves integration of transport, emergency service, patrol police and communal services - so that all these services are available at one telephone number.
