Students and schoolchildren of Northern Caucasus to be tested for drugs

In 2011, voluntary testing for drug using among schoolchildren and university students will be held in all regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD).

"Pilot testing on voluntary basis was held in Dagestan, Karachaevo-Cherkesia and Chechnya, but this is only a start of the work, which will now be expanded," said Denis Ermakov, deputy head of the Department for the NCFD of the State Drug Control Committee.

The appropriate decisions have been made in the remaining districts of the NCFD.

According to his story, during the voluntary testing only one case was revealed of using drugs by a young man in Karachaevo-Cherkesia, where 426 persons were examined. Now, the issue is discussed to test all the entrants to educational establishments and military recruits, the "Russian News Service" reports.
