Blogger Dudko will stay in custody

The Lefortovo District Court of Moscow has extended the detention term of blogger Alaudin Dudko, also known under the nickname ingushetiya_ru, by three months more. The investigation into his case is still on.

According to Abu Gaitaev, the blogger's advocate, one of the witnesses of the investigation, Dudko's acquaintance, named Rogov, evidenced that Alaudin had given him a mine for storage.

"Thus, inspectors have already seen 'a group of persons' and 'a conspiracy', and have added another point to the indictment," said Gaitaev.

The advocate has treated the accusations of storing a mine as "complete nonsense," "because it is rusty and very old," according to his data, it was made in the 1940s.

Inspector Mikhail Shupolovskiy argued, explaining why Dudko should be kept in custody, that he had fears that the detainee could abscond and commit illegal actions.

The court sitting, where Dudko's custody was extended, took place on December 30; his detention will last till the end of March.

Madina Dudko, Alaudin's wife, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she does not believe that her husband was guilty and doubts the objectiveness of the investigation. "His arrest resulted in my sufferings, together with our two small children, for half a year already. An innocent person is behind bars," she said.

The blogger himself would not plead guilty and believes that the real reason for his persecution was in his public and information activities.
