Solo pickets in support of political prisoners held in Rostov-on-Don

On January 7, activists of opposition movements "Solidarity", "United Civil Front" and "Left-Wing Front" held solo pickets in support of political prisoners. The organizers report about militiamen's attempts to detain them.

"I went out with my poster onto the street in front of the building of the Plenipotentiary of Russian President in the Southern Federal District (SFD) at about two in the afternoon. Already in 20 minutes militiamen from the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) came up to me and asked to go with them to the police station for identification. They checked my data by their database and let me go," Vladislav Ryazantsev, an activist of the "Left-Wing Front", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, militiamen also tried to hamper the solo picket held by Andrei Grekov, activist of the "United Civil Front".

"Despite these militiamen's attempts we intend to continue holding solo pickets in Rostov," Mr Ryazantsev has added.

The "Caucasian Knot" has no comments yet on oppositionists' statements from law enforcement bodies.
